Neil, our Plant Manager, popped in the office the other day, he was rabbiting on about something or other. To be honest I wasn’t paying too much attention as I was wondering what on earth to write about for this weeks email. He said he’d hop back later. It turned out Neil wanted to talk about Easter.
To be honest all I’d like for Easter is some chocolate and some sunshine. I did have chocolate yesterday, the day before that and it is highly likely the day before that but I can’t say the same for sunshine – we haven’t had any for a while now, have we? Chocolate isn’t that great for the waistline and the lack of sunshine not that great for our gardens!
The good news: This week will see the temperatures start to rise and everything, that looks pretty dormant, is waiting in readiness to start to grow again. More good news? The new series of Gardeners’ World starts this Friday. Monty and the team are back. Hurray! Gardening is go go go.
I actually like this time of year. It offers a perfect opportunity to really see your garden. You can spot spaces where new plants could thrive (WLGV has Spring colour in now). Your patio pots might enjoy some fresh company (WLGV has a great choice at the mo) and there are jobs to be done to Spring clean your garden (Yes WLGV has everything from brooms to gloves and cleaners and, of course, lots and lots of inspiration). You can take a break though, what about some new garden furniture for the summer? (Our latest ranges are on display now). Exciting times.
Speaking of exciting times, very much so for the latest trio of retailers to open their doors at The Lock House.
The Lock House is a brand new build – and building – at Whilton Locks Garden Village. It can be seen on the immediate left as you enter our driveway. Three brand new businesses will open their doors for the very first time on March 19th from 9am.
