This week has seen the annual Chelsea Flower Show. Despite the testing conditions both for the growing build up and the show itself, once again, the event sets the standard in the gardening world.
It was particularly lovely to see The King there, looking very well. Some of the team, here at Whilton Locks, were able to go too, to see colour, inspiration and ideas for you. Ideas that can be implemented now, and for our buying teams, later in the season. That’s the thing, you see, being fully independent we can choose and buy our own… everything. We don’t have to follow the buyers ideas at a chain central office, that buys the exact same plants for colder or coastal or windy parts of the country. It doesn’t make sense does it? What does make scents are our flowers and blooms that are blooming lovely right now.
Once again our displays (you say, as we wouldn’t wish to show off) are looking lovely, perhaps even worthy of Chelsea. Showstoppers! Filled to the brim with choice and backed up with great stock levels too. Again all the photos, in this mailing, are ours and have been taken over this week, on site. Gold! One that caught our eye, and brand new for 2024, is Hydrangea Euphoria. Intense, bright pink foliage, with pink and white flowers. It is hardy, great for light shade and is available now for just £24.99 in a 3lt pot. An absolute gem. (Shown above, left).
This weekend is another Bank Holiday – yay! The weather is set to be good – yay, again! We are open every day, with Bank Holiday Monday itself being a ‘normal’ Monday time: 9am to 6pm. You are royally invited. We’d love to see you.

It’s the Bark, sorry Bank, Holiday weekend!! It is so exciting for hoomans but extra exciting for dogs, as they get to spend more time with their owners. (It’s what they like the most).
So don’t leave them at home, bring them to Bruno’s Pet Store. There is so much for them to see and the whole site at Whilton Locks Garden Village is dog friendly, including a designated doggy diner in the restaurant too, complete with treats.

Of course, being a holiday weekend, you should cake it easy and not overdo anything. Once you have purchased your plants, collected your compost and been delighted by our displays, you could head into our Canalside restaurant. Serving all day, from breakfast to light snacks, main meals and, naturally cake. I may have mentioned cake already? Mmmmmmm.

The Lock House is a brand new build – and building – at Whilton Locks Garden Village. It can be seen on the immediate left as you enter our driveway.
