Yesterday a beautiful Bonsai was taken from our store, without payment. We posted photos of the perpetrator on our Facebook socials and the response from followers, friends and even people that don’t even know us was incredible, with shares, comments and ultimately great info.

Following some super sleuthing and as a direct result of the Facebook post, our Bonsai was returned to us this morning. A fantastic result and we thank everyone for their help.

Apart from saying a number of people ‘did the right and honest thing’ we aren’t going to give anymore details so our Bonsai (who we have now christened Bonnie) following the horrible ordeal the day before, we decided to treat to a better day today!!!!

Firstly Bonnie had a good tour around our garden centre particularly enjoying the roses, the pond, the easy baskets, a look around Bruno’s Pet Store before enjoying a super frappe in our Canalside Restaurant.
Next, Bonnie had a look in The Lockhouse, the big green building on the left as you enter our driveway (shown here in Lock House Antiques) then had fun in a park. Despite the rain (Bonnie quite liked it – the photographer didn’t!!) the swings and slides were great fun.

Bonnie enjoyed some retail therapy at the rather lovely Heart of the Shires Shopping Village just up the road, then took a trip to the Arc Cinema Daventry partaking in pop and popcorn of course!

A bit of fun for all. That said, yesterday was no fun. It also wasn’t a one off. Every single day small, independent businesses like ours are being put under huge pressure by people, for whatever reason, who believe that it is a victimless crime. It isn’t. It is ruining retail.

Thank you to everyone who helped us resolve this, this occasion and the businesses mentioned for being good sports today. It is now time to go as the movie is about to start!

RESULTS.
