It’s Pup Pup Hooray – with a birthday party for The Dog Barn.
A business built just for dogs is celebrating its first year at Heart of the Shires. The Dog Barn has everything – and we mean everything for dogs – and is part of the newly extended Heart of the Shires site that compliments the established, super independent retailers at this popular venue.
Located just off the A5 between Long Buckby and Weedon, Heart of the Shires has seen a lot of recent changes since being initially built as a farm in 1867. The new wing is in-keeping with the architectural style of the original buildings and the new tenants include Flowers by Natasha, Mulberry Luxe, Vision Interiors, The Plant Barn and The Dog Barn.
The Dog Barn loves to welcome dogs of all shapes and sizes (and their owners) and can be a real treat for a real doggie day out. The Dog Barn Playroom is an additional area full of toys and treats. It’s pawfect for pups and pooches of all ages and is great fun for them and you.

Owner Ashleigh Loach says. “It’s set to be a super weekend. We have had huge support from dog owners over the year and we thought we’d say a big thank you with a party.”
Ashleigh continues, “So we have goody bags for the first 50 customers each day, a free prize draw hamper to be won, free cake, a sniffy, search trail around the super dog friendly Heart of the Shires site, 20% off* poochy products such as toys, beds and so much more.”
The party welcomes a host of supporters too including Pawprints Dog Rescue, Penny Hanby Portraits, Bark & Beyond, Natural Canine Co and Poodle Paws Dog Grooming.
Gail Cleland, Heart of the Shires Site Administrator, said “It’s been wonderful having The Dog Barn at Heart of the Shires for the past year. It really has increased four-legged footfall to our dog friendly site and ensured whole families can visit us.”
The fun is 10am to 5pm on both Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd March. The Dog Barn would love to see you. The site has easy access and is completely free to bark… sorry park and free to enter.
…and the next year? “Well lets just say,” teases Ashleigh “there’s much more to come, watch this space – and a big green space too!”
