Whilton Locks Garden Village

Hello – it’s the inbetweeny, in between bit.
Remember, remember, the inbetweeny bit of October and November.

The other day on our Facebook page (it’s very good if you would like to follow it!) we introduced some of our presentations for Christmas. Burning the midnight oil and living off mince pies, the team have worked really hard to produce displays that look incredible. Blowing our own Christmas trumpet but the comments were sooooooo supportive, so we’ll indulge for once. One comment that really stuck out was “Nobody does Christmas like Whilton Locks.”

So during a quiet moment, eggnog in hand and the thought of some new slippers on their way, I realised. That is so true.

Nobody DOES Christmas like Whilton Locks.
Yes, one could point out you could head to a magnificent stately home and their magnificent displays and light trails indeed, look amazing. However a parked car full of the family and it’s an expensive day out. There’s no chance either of seeing something rather lovely and thinking how it would improve your own Christmas displays. Asking how much to purchase said glittery bauble. No, his Lord and Lady doth protest!

At the other end of the Christmas experience would be the Woolworths-style shops, with the promise of a bargain. These places have hiked prices (but not quality) in recent times and the low prices have long since gone.

So Whilton Locks is free to park. We are free to enter too, so you can pop in as many times as you like between now and Christmas. You’ll be welcomed by a cheery ‘hello’ each time, by our happy members of staff. There is never any pressure to buy anything, but if you would like to, you’ll find the very best prices and offers – such as our 3 for 2 on soooo many baubles – that nobody else does.

Our events too are worthy here of mention. Arguably it could have been said “Nobody does EVENTS like Whilton Locks.”
Our real ice, ice rink returns (just 38 days until it opens*), Santa’s Grotto, Elsa, The Grinch – yes, actually here – wreath making, Breakfast with Santa, Dash in his Virtual Reality sleigh ride and a sack full of super family fun entertainment to make your Christmas special, well actually – extra special. So yes, it IS but just October and a whole series of fun (did we mention our October half term holiday marvellous Meet the Animals?) is still to be enjoyed, but oh boy, is there snow much to be looking forward to. We can’t wait!

Merry October!
